To paint is to ride an emotional roller coaster. I tend to use any medium that I find interesting, that will give that special texture or effect that I crave. Sometimes I have an idea before I paint and other times it will flow out as the painting takes shape. Earth, wind, fire, water and space are all components of my series of paintings.

 I enjoy the works of Jackson Pollock. I sometimes us my barn as a space to experiment with new techniques that will splatter paint around the canvas and myself. I use my hands as much as a brush; feeling the paint and textures is part of the experience. I am flattered when another artist purchases my paintings and "wonders how I did that".

As the technical director at an East Texas Community Theater, I have been able to indulge my creative impulses. Usually I am covered in paint or crawling on the stage finishing some type of faux floor or wall. Abstract painting just seems to come naturally and I wake up at night with new ideas that I can't wait to try. I have painted for many years, but abstracts only in the past few years.

I've found my niche and plan on exploring the realm.
